1-8-00, Harrison, Calumet County, 42 year old male, BAC - 0.015
Accident was not witnessed. Investigation indicates that the victim was operating at a very high rate of speed on the ice of a frozen lake. Evidence suggests that the victim veered slightly off the main traveled area going towards an ice heave and also increased his speed. Victim hit the ice heave, which was actually an ice shelf drifted in with snow. The machine and operator appear to have been launched high into the air not landing for 95 feet. Impact caused the machines skis to be bent straight up. It appears that the victim intentionally hit the ice shelf in an attempt to do an airborne jump
